About us
GRACIA STUDIO, led by architect Jorge Gracia García, is a binational architectural practice based in Tijuana and San Diego. The studio is recognized for its thoughtful integration of contemporary design, material honesty, and a profound sensitivity to the landscapes and cultural conditions of the Baja California–Southern California region.
Founded in 2004, GRACIA STUDIO approaches each project as an opportunity to explore the relationship between architecture, craft, and terrain. The work is defined by clean geometries, expressive structural clarity, and a deep respect for the natural and built environments. The studio often draws from local building traditions and artisanal methods, elevating them through modern construction techniques and a conceptual rigor that results in architecture that is both grounded and timeless.
Jorge’s work spans a wide range of typologies, including private residences, hospitality and boutique hotels, restaurants, cultural spaces, and large-scale masterplans. His early contributions in the Valle de Guadalupe helped shape the region’s architectural identity, setting a precedent for a landscape-first approach that blends contemporary form with the textures, climate, and topography of the valley.
Operating on both sides of the border, GRACIA STUDIO embraces the cultural complexity and opportunities of a binational practice. This unique position allows the studio to combine the precision and technical standards of U.S. architecture with the material expressiveness and craftsmanship of Mexico, resulting in a design language that is distinct, authentic, and deeply contextual.
The studio’s work has been featured in national and international publications and continues to influence the evolving architectural narrative of northern Mexico and Southern California. Driven by a belief that architecture should provoke emotion, enrich daily life, and endure over time, GRACIA STUDIO remains committed to creating spaces that are meaningful, responsible, and intimately connected to their place.
